J'ai tellement aimé ce chef-d'oeuvre de finesse et d'intelligence que je suis allé à Clermont-Ferrand (la ville de Pascal) voir les lieux de tournage, vingt-deux ans plus tard. Trintignant est formidable dans ce rôle de catho un peu coincé entre un marxiste cynique (Antoine Vitez) et une libre-penseuse (Françoise Fabian). Il y a aussi Marie-Christine Barrault qui joue l'étudiante à scooter. Un beau film en noir et blanc tourné dans une ville grise, la veille de Noel.
