Asalaamu alaikum really does put a smile on my face like when i'm T'ed off at someone, and a muslimah come by and they greet me, like I forget how mad I am and smile and chat. Its really quite nicceee. But there are times I greet some muslimah hijabis, and they are all quiet and angry when saying it back.....and it brings the friendly muslim sister atmosphere to a hault.

I was at my Saturday school at the masjid and my learned that their is a saying of prophet Muhammad PBUH that when 2 Muslims meet and shakes hand and say asslam alakum their sins will fall from there hand like leefs on a tree.
