A really good looking group of cows and calves.

Is it true that grass fed steers must stay on alfalfa from the time they are weaned and on, in order for the meat to taste good? Thanks for the great video! Did you buy your bulls or hoome raised.

There is a variety of good "finishing" grasses and legumes. If you don't already, you need to subscribe to the Grassfarmer magazine for info. We bought our bulls from Redd Ranches but have also A. I for a home raised one.

It depends on the time of year and the pasture as to how big a paddock and how quickly we move the cows....in general during the spring and summer we move the cows every three to five days.
In that video we had 40 cows, 10 replacement heifers and yes...a yearling red angus and a yearling black angus bull
We have another herd of 25 yearlings (we have seperated from the bulls for two and a half cow cycles) that are beef animals that will go to the butcher in Sept. for Oct. beef delivery.
