Nemesis

Chalmers Johnson is an intellectual who worked as a consultant to the CIA for about 8 years. "Nemesis" is his latest book in which he observes that militarism and the American quest for imperial empire has cost America it's Republic, it's liberties and constitution. He examines mass murder, torture and the destruction of our civilization's heritage in Mesopotamia, as the hallmarks of America's evolving Imperial rampage.

Johnson compares the demise of the American Republic to the Roman Empire's destruction of the Roman Republic. He also examines the British Empire and its' nasty business.

Ensuing chapters look at the President's private secret army (CIA), US foreign military installations and agreements, and the Empires race to space.

There is a reason you may not have heard of Chalmers Johnson. He is to hot for the American propaganda mill to manage.

Another great documentary film about Vietnam is Emile de Antonio's 'In the Year of the Pig' which includes amazing archival footage of Ho Chi Minh. At one time de Antonio was called the "most dangerous filmaker in America."

Another of his films was 'Mr Hoover & I' about J Edgar and the files he kept on de Antonio. de Antonio was very much a committed leftist who knew JFK at Harvard. All of his films are worth seeing.

Thank you for the correction. When I saw the man on the University of California channel [Free Speech TV](DISH TV), he was being called plain old Chalmers Johnson. Nowhere in his book "Nemesis" is he referred to as Dr Chalmers Johnson.

My mistake was inadvertent. No insult was intended or implied.

@radiohogan Mr. Hogan: Emile de Antonio's 'Mr Hoover and I' has been uploaded to YouTube on the channel TurinFilmCorp. However, it was uploaded with numerous different names. To watch the different parts in what I think is sequential order, read the letters at each title's end. They are labeled (AA), (AB), (AC), (AD) ... etc.

Emile de Antonio also made 'Point of Order' (on the McCarthy hearings) and 'Rush to Judgement' (on JFK's assassination). I've seen the JFK film on YouTube.

I just got a hold of DR. Johnson's book, "Blowback". He's a walking encyclopedia.  I wish I had learned of him sooner.

Thank you, Mr. Hogan. I agree with you wholeheartedly. I'm a new fan of Chalmers Johnson. Today the Dow fell another 700 pts. It's here. The poor will suffer unless we turn the tables.
