@mamanabela I never put fresh flowers on a real cake because flowers are sprayed with horrible pesticides, and I don't want those chemicals getting into the cake. If flowers are organic and pesticide-free, then it's fine, but it's very hard to find flowers like these unless you grow them yourself. If you do use real flowers, be sure that they're edible as well. At my farmers market, they sell crushed flowers for salads, and I suppose these would look good sprinkled on cake.

@meandyoubaking You can get floral foam at any craft store like Michaels or Joann. Just be sure to get the floral foam for fresh flowers, rather than the floral foam for silk flowers. They sell both kinds. Thanks!

I love this idea! I wonder if this could be done with silk flowers? I will be looking for your book. to try some of your ideas . Thank you for this! Please just tell me if it an be done with silk flowers versus live and if so what changes I need to make to the instructions?

@aleksmom0502 I've actually made this with silk flowers. I got silk carnations at Michaels. The only thing is you'd need floral foam for silk flowers instead of live flowers. It holds the flowers in better. Thanks for watching!
