SOMA Contemporary announces "Three Colours - Blue", the first in a series of exhibitions investigating the Primary Colours and their acquired meanings. Opening reception will be held on Thursday March 10th at 7:00 pm.

Blue is Calming. It can be strong and steadfast, or light and friendly. This forms the exhibition's context, to provide an overarching setting for the works, all of which include or are produced in blue. Participating artists have been asked to express their own thoughts on blue's fundamental values. The aim is not merely to interact with the perceptual property on a theoretical level, but to find a more personal, creative approach which, against the exhibition's guiding motif of the colour blue, allows the individual voice of each participating artist to emerge.

Curated by Rachael Corcoran

VISITOR INFORMATION: Exhibition continues until April 2nd, 2011 -- followed by "Three Colours - RED", which opens April 14th. The Gallery is open Thursday - Saturday, 1 pm - 5:30 pm and also by appointment. Admission is free. Contact: somawaterford@gmail.com. Visit: www.somacontemporary.com

  • just a question, what relation, if any, does the exhibition bear to Krzysztof Kieślowski's 'Three Colours Trilogy'?
