Delta Queen's Crew Plea to Congress

I always said that if I was out on deck of a towboat or barge and heard the whistle of the Delta Queen or her sister(this was pre AQ),and did not get a shiver down my spine,THAT was when I was going to quit the river.Looks like I might be doing that.

Don't worry Delta Queen, Our Country will be taken back to what it once was, and you will have your right to the river again.

In my opinion the true "America" does not exist anymore! Im ready for the Second American Revolution!

Our Gov't SUCKS! Total morons,

the delta Queen is a historacol landmark to our country she did serve in the military along with the delta King,,,,,the delta Queen is the only river boat to have proven to be sea worthy as she is the only river boat that went through the panama canal,,going from sancremento calif,to her new home the missippi ,,shes a historic landmark ,,I dont know if the delta Queen is still running any more or not I hope so,,,

I live in Minnesota, and I can tell that for years Oberstar has been abusing his power in schemes like this. He is the lowest of the low, a puppet for the union boss'es who care not lick about the workers. They only care about increasing their own power.
The Delta Queen is just one of thousands of businesses that have been destroyed by them.

So many times while boating on the Ohio River, our family would ride along side the Delta Queen, in awe of her beauty and grace. It would be travisty of justice to have her silenced because of politics. I treasure those memories forever and hope that The Grand Lady will be allowed to enchant many generations to come with her powerful voice and beautiful song from her caliope, and her stunning beauty and grace. God save The Delta Queen.

Watching the Delta Queen pass by my little Ohio river town in the 1970's was a magical experience. Mother and grandmother would excitedly exclaim, "Here comes the Delta Queen!" We'd rush to the riverbank to watch her. God save the Queen!

My grandfather, Reggie Evans, was the trumpet play for the River Boat Ramblers aboard the Delta Queen throughout much of the 80s. The Boat, as we called it, tought me about history and allowed me a relationship with my family rare in those days much less these days. Losing a treasure like the DQ would be a tragety in a world that moves so fast. Relax, take in the music, the food and the experiences of a great time in the history of our nation.
