Hawaii Highlights vs. San Jose State 2010

HONOLULU -- Bryant Moniz threw for a school-record 560 yards and three touchdowns Saturday night as Hawaii rolled over San Jose State 41-7.

Kealoha Pilares had 154 yards receiving and one touchdown and Greg Salas had 144 yards and a TD for the Warriors (8-3, 6-1 WAC).

Aaron Brown picked off a pass by San Jose State's Jordan La Secla for his first career interception and returned it 22 yards for a touchdown. Brown also had one of the Warriors' season-high eight sacks.

Moniz's single-game school passing record put him in third place for the most yards passing in Warrior history after Timmy Chang and Colt Brennan.

Moniz's big night topped Brennan, who threw for 559 yards during the 2006 Hawaii Bowl against Arizona State.

Brennan, 27, was hospitalized Friday after he broke several ribs and suffered head injuries in a car accident in North Kona on the Big Island. He was in stable condition Saturday at The Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu.

It was Hawaii's first win after a 42-7 loss at No. 3 Boise State two weeks ago. Hawaii was idle last week.

The Spartans (1-10, 0-6) have lost eight in a row, and their only victory this season came against Football Championship Subdivision member Southern Utah.

The Warriors, although eliminated from the WAC title race, already have plans for the postseason, having accepted an offer to appear in the Hawaii Bowl after defeating Idaho for their seventh win of the season.

The victory also kept Hawaii's hopes alive for a 10-win season, which would be its fifth since 1992. Hawaii plays at New Mexico State next week and hosts UNLV Dec. 4.

Well it may seem like Hawaii dominated, but in all honesty, (I've been a Warrior fan for the last 15 years), San Jose St. was, well, for a lack of better words, downright lousy. I think Farrington High could have beaten SJ that night. Granted, Hawaii always has a potent offense so it was simply no match. I hope that Hawaii has this very good team this year and pays back Colorado for last years loss. Also gonna need a good performance for the rest of the schedule too.
