Press release: On Saturday, December 10, 2011, beginning at 9:00am at the San Francisco Presidio National Cemetery, the Wreaths Across America organization will, with the help of its many partners, honor and remember those who served this great nation. Wreaths Across America will place hundreds of ceremonial wreaths at veteran's headstones, including seven specially designed wreaths to hon or those who served the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, Merchant Marines, and to honor POW/MIA. The Wreaths Across America organizers are quite proud to welcome World War II veteran and Pearl Harbor survivor Chuck Kohler as the keynote speaker for this year's ceremony. ABOUT WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA : December 10th, 2011 marks the 20th anniversary of the donation of wreaths to be placed at veteran's headstones, which began in Arlington, Virginia in 1991. Since then, Wreaths Across America has remembered and placed wreaths on tens of thousands of veterans' headstones in national cemteries across the land, including over 1,700 placed at the Presidio National Cemetery in 2010. Nationwide over 160,000 Wreaths Across America volunteers participated in 2010. In 2011, Wreaths Across America and its volunteers are placing wreaths in over 400 locations nationwide.
