@ValtronW But it's not exactly the same though. The dance in Wicked is a chance for the other people to see her pain and to comfort her, making the musical roll along and getting Elphaba attached to something in the process so the musical is all the more nervewracking. This scene is to show us that Grizabella is genuinually sorry for what she's done and wants to make ammends. Even though both are similar, they both have different meanings that shows us that they aren't the same at all.

@ManyLemons2 I thought the same thing when I saw Wicked. Rip off.

I'll admit, I started to doze off a bit around this part, and then she just BELTED out and I was like DAMN. I was awake and ready from there on. This musical in phenomenal.

Grizabella is the Norma Desmond of cats. Except for the fact that she has her own happy ending.

@philemon101 in the poems grizabella is a cat that left all the other cats to go and be famous and live a glam life but she was taken advantaged of and used then tried to come back broken and they wont accept her back.

@williamharrellhinson that's Old Duteronomy like the only one who understands how she feels

is Grizabella an abused cat?

they should do the same with wicked :O
The way that Griabella dances by heself makes me think of Elphaba from Wicked, only there's no Glinda to take Grizabella's hand, so it's much more bitter and sad.
