Ok here we go trying yet to domesticating something else. I like Meerkats, I like them better in there own habitat , so they can continue the natural order of things. Next thing you know ever Diva type shallow chick will want one for a exotic pet to brag about to her even more shallow crew of friends, LOL

@Sarabazzar The fact is that poaching "exotic" animals for market to privileged jerks who can't see farther than their own nose jobs endangers habitat, fucks up ecosystems, and causes species to go extinct. Leave them in peace to live where they evolved over millions of years to live, stop your species-ism and imperialist colonization. Whatever "breeding" these douches do only adds to the craze for exotic animals. Leave them alone!

@hellokittyy2k08 you're in the UK and can't even spell "allowed" :-/ If something is allowed, that doesn't mean it's the right thing to do.

@quoidanslemondequoi They're also the ones who sometimes help breed endangered exotic animals.

Predominantly they eat chicks, we buy them frozen from pet stores costs around £17.00 for 250. lasts them a couple of months they also eat mice and sometimes get them live food e.g grubs and crickets.
they love ice cream and pretty much everything else you eat, only thing they shouldnt eat are grapes thats down to the pesticides used on them. otherwise anything goes really !

The male was £550 and the female was £400. they do make excellent pets and even now they bring some much fun into the house but you need to be serious about wanting one they are Very Very sociable and wouldnt want locking away in a cage, our two meerkats run around our house all day long and they have a bedroom to themselves to sleep in rather than a cage, but over the top i know but thats how they live in our home. we also have a dog and a cat and they all get on very very well too.

We bought Bandit from a pet shop in wigan called "appletons Exotics" and Bindi we bought from a lady privately who had got pregnant and knew she wouldnt be able to give her the attention, she still see's Bindi regularly and happy for her.
