BETTER THAN "EXPERT VILLAGE"

Distortion or Overdrive I have found is best to put before Delay or Reverb otherwise the delay seems to be distorted when it repeats... If that made sense... >.>

@dangle66 Definitely!!! That is the best way to go. If you are not confident with an FX loop, just put your distortion before ALL of your other effects. It is the only way that it really makes an sonic sense.

@sustayne So distortion pedal into front amp imput, other time-based fx into the effects loop?
-
Im glad this video is here for people. I NEVER used to use my amps effects loop. Once I did I relized how much tone I was losing!!
-
Can I just use a loop pedal and amp?
-
IF you don't have a buffer, distortion pedals go FIRST, not last. If you have a buffer, plug straight into the buffer FIRST, then distortion. DO NOT put your distortion last in the chain, it sounds awful. Think about what is actually happening and it will make complete sense.Jeff says to put distortion last. I think he either misspoke or made a mistake. NO studio engineer would look to distort his delay or chorus. Time-based fx always come post - distortion. Always.

if you run a looper through the effects loop, and then record distortion into it, will the returning distortion simulate the breaking of the rule of no distortion in the effects loop? im thinking it will just duplicate just as clear, or will it boost and possibly mess things up?....or should i just run my 2 korg and zoom processors into the fx loop and keep the high gain distortion and looper in the front?

I meant starting from 0:05

What's that song at the beginning of the video!? I hear it so many times and I love it but I can't figure out what song it is!!!!

I spent 30 min trying to find out what an FX loop is/does and my amp doesn't even have 1...

Thank YOU!
Thanks :) Btw, I have been trying to find a way to dedicated some pedals to my clean channel and others to the dirty channel so that I can switch between channels while leaving some pedals on and not having them effect the other channel. I have tried using an A/B but this didn't work. Do you have any ideas?

@joho1701 There are a few interesting videos you may want to check out on YouTube that demonstrate some VooDoo Labs products that will probably solve your problem. The first of the 4 (or5) videos can be found by entering FIRnr3xPLsE in the YouTube search bar. The others can be accessed from there. Hope this helps.
