I made several (many) improvements on the map editor, one of the big ones was to let the user place enemies on the map. Right now the enemy logic is pretty dull, they'll stand there and take hits but they don't wander the map or have any sort of path-finding what-so-ever.. but that will change once I can work on it a bit more.
Currently, when you place an enemy on the ground (or in this videos case, a group of enemies) they will sit there and chill until you get within their agro range.
Once you're in the enemies agro range, that enemy will call near-by enemies with X range into battle, and the battle screen pops up.
I did this because I do not want "random" battles in my system, and this is a good cross between a Chrono Trigger style and a Secret of Mana style. Please let me know what you think!
Up next is to finish the battle logic (most specifically, enemies logic) and then start working on the sound engine.. i'll need to get some music / sound effects :)
XNA ShackRPG is an RPG project being developed with Microsofts XNA Game Studio Express and C# from someone who just wanted to learn how to program. I have roughly 4 months experience with programming, and this is my first big project.
This is really good dude, I have been programming for like 2 years and I have never even tried anything this big :P

I like the editor GUI, but the enemies not moving? Not something you should be showing off just yet.

Sodafountain, building this kind of stuff is EASY. If you learned how to work with arrays, you could do this NOW.
