Dev Anand, Mohd. Rafi, Love Marriage, Shankar Jaikishan. Listen to what the poet says. A very good answer to todays hiphop music. Nice composition.

  • Thanks Scott, this was my first upload. He is India's evergreen star and the song is in Hindi. The staring lines says - "Don't feel bad about it dear friend, but beating drums and mere shouting is not music at all." Please post more of Shirley!!

  • Kamaaaaaal of three Super stars..Evergreen DEVSAAB, Dynamic RAISAAB & The Emperors of Music shankar Jaikishan. Thanks for uploading hit no. of 1959.

  • @buttegowda wonderful! Actually, Prithvi Raj Kapoor had once said that after Tansen, Saigal was THE singing legend.

  • @muthubharadwaj i agree! but i find Rafi's voice not upto the mark in this song. i know the speed is a little fast but even otherwise, he is not at his best.

  • @amrutvani SJ shld have minded their own business as they had 'borrowed' so much from everywhere!

  • This is a typical Shankar composition. I believe that between the duo, Shankar was responsible for most of the classical raag based tunes as well as the sentimental ones while Jaikishan was more into romantic tunes and light popular melodies. This song, in particular, is one that a person with a liking as well as understanding of Hindustani music will appreciate. There are som very subtle and beatiful melodic raaga patterns particularly in the interlude music.

  • TIN CANNISTER OR DRUMS- ishara is towards western DRUM KITS.

  • What a way SJ, Shailendra give their respects to Saigal Saab in this song.

  • I agree this is A very good answer to todays hiphop music but do u know that Shankar Jaikishan specilly asked the lyricist to write this for OP Nayyar !

  • Please upload the song "kahan jaa rahete kahan aagaye hum" from this film.

  • waah ji waah ... kia baat hai

    interesting
