The holidays were kicked off, literally, a little early this year with a mid-November visit from the worlds most famous high-steppers, the Radio City Rockettes. The 40th Annual Grand Rapids Jaycees Santa Claus Parade enticed thousands to brave the cold as they welcomed the Big Guy himself to the streets of downtown. While the Grand Rapids Art Museums Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony inspired merrymakers to get your joy on as the 50 foot evergreen lit up with thousands of LED lights followed by a figure skating performance officially opening the Rosa Parks Ice Rink for the season.
