Not surprising it's hard to take for those of you who have been there or belong there. I've never been to Christchurch but this was still really sad to watch. We really are all a part of the body of Christ. What hurts one, hurts us all. The building itself means very little to me, but I know many of you are hurting and that makes it sad. We see the end of an error, but God knows what the next one will bring.
That was a bit hard to take. Columbo Street Baptist was my 'home' when I worked at RHEMA back in the 80's. Have some great memories from my time there.
In my years as pastor I never managed to bring down the roof! Now it has happened. It is sad to to see it go, but we look forward to seeing a "resurrection" taking place! May it be a time of new life and blessing for the Body.
Love and sympathy from Beckenham Baptist Church in Bromley, Kent, UK. Two of us, visiting via Wellington, were there on Friday Feb 18 to renew acquaintance. Very sad to see this - but the church is the people, not bricks and mortar! We'll watch this space!
God bless all of you at BBC. Shed a wee tear over this, but then am reminded just how often God led his people in rebuilding cities, walls and temples for His glory and purpose. Sadness mixed with antitipation!
Psalm 69 v 34- 36 Let heaven and earth praise Him, the seas and all that move in them, for God will save Zion and rebuild the cities of Judah. Then people will settle there and possess it; the children of his servants will inherit it, and those who love his name will dwell there.
wasnt it awesome to see the cross come thru with the sun shining. New beginnings, out with the old and in with the new. New wine. God bless Tony, Sandra and funny family who laugh at my dry jokes.
GOD is sovereign and all powerfull. Praize be to our LORD JESUS, KING OF KINGS and LORD OF LORDS
Why was it demolished?
