A Norfolk Southern train took a wrong turn somewhere and ended up in the Southern California desert. We occasionally get NS units out here ... but this is the first time I've seen a train with only NS power.

  • I use to cross those tracks every going to high school.miss it alot.

  • good pace--in busy area.

  • I was more entertained watching the Kaiser Steel, Sugar Beets and Pacific Fruit Express trains going thru Banning, especially in the 50's. I model intermodals, but most are early Sealand containers on Sealand Gunderson Bulkheads which also went thru Banning in the early 80's. Good video and capture. As a 70 year old who was raised in Banning across the tracks from the SP train depot, I won't deny the novelty of watching mega UP & Norfolk Southern diesels. Good capture and video!!!!

  • Looks like a Z train of some sort, not sure which one, we have Z's run through tucson all the time with only NS power. And idiots at the crosssings happens all too much, I see it everytime I am out on the rails.

  • damn that is very far out

  • yeah it took a wrong turn at albuquerque lol nice NS shots!!

  • you are not kidding when you said we should forward the video a bit.

  • wow... what a long train (:
