"Police said two vehicles ended up in the church parking lot after some sort of argument between the drivers. Police said one vehicle was chasing the other. The man who was being chased got out of his vehicle and entered the church and told people to take cover. A woman came out of the church to see what was happening in the parking lot and got shot.

Police said an off-duty officer was at a service and went outside and shot the man who shot the woman"

If the Second Amendment doesn't cover modern guns then the First Amendment doesn't cover the internet, TV, radio... Our rights aren't dependent on the level of technology.

When someone says too many people have guns remember that aproximately 80 MILLION legal American gun owners did NOT hurt anyone today, or any other day. Only an idiot would blame the tool for the behavior.

Guns in the right hands save lives, A good-guy in the church was armed. That fact saved lives. More guns carried by good citizens save lives. Better to have and not need than to need and not have.

Luke 22:36-Then said he (Jesus) unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

Also I never did say sudden stricter laws would help, so what are you getting outraged about?

To obtain a gun here you need a VERY good reason for why you need one (legitimate danger, if you're in a hunting club/gun sport, which is also looked into, etc.), you need to get a psych evaluation and need a certificate in gun safety training. We also have universal health insurance which covers mental health, at a low rate, accessible to anyone. This is how it's done.

Again, as I mentioned in another post, we've had the laws from the start. Being able to obtain a gun and then suddenly forbidding it is just idiocy. You've already got guns on the street - suddenly banning them does not get rid of the ones already out there. And, like I said, the US is pretty much fucked in that regard. Something that could've been mostly dealt with from the start has grown into a very nuanced, hard/long-to-solve problem indeed. Sudden bans won't do any good.

I live in the UK with some of the most strict law on guns possible AND YET since the hand gun ban came into effect violent gun crime has risen dramatically and now the general populace have no means of defending themselves against armed criminals thanks to pussies like yourself.

I'm sure you're perfectly aware of the various other violent crimes committed in gun control states. Fatal stabbings, mass poisoning, axe attacks.

How about some real solutions? Like proper mental health care?

Mr "upright" if u really aren't from America then maybe you truly don't understand the problem. All kinds of weapons are shipped here illegally from many different countries, you can get a fully automatic weapon on the streets for under $1000 (which are totally illegal btw)

Yeah look at Mexico, I mean obviously their strict gun control policies are working just as intended right?

You don't have to go back and forth. I'll just walk around in my country, safe in the thought that our gun laws are quite strict and our crimes involving guns are so low as to be almost negligible ( or murders in general ). Me, I like knowing that any old Tom with a tiny-dick complex will have to work that much harder to get his hands on an instrument that will make his actions so much easier to perform.
