This is the TTT Tickler, a Tic Tac Toe playing robot.
The building instructions for the robot are shown in detail in the book "LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT Thinking Robots", written by Daniele Benedettelli, No Starch Press 2009.

You have changed the area behind the light sensor compared to the book does that help it work better....I can't get my arm to work

the bad thing about tic tac toe is that belongs to those games in wich, if you do all the steps correctly, you never loose. If also the opponent never fails (as a Computer would do) it's always a tie.
It's a nice design and piece anyway

No... because the book came out way before the NXT 2.0 , but it tells you how to use the light sensor
