@OH2FFY The guy you sold it too would have been laughing. It is worth 10 times that amount. The ATS 803a is one of the best portable shortwave radio's to this very day. Many amateur radio operators use these to monitor call frequencise on. If you are serious about dxing, then pick up a base unit with an analogue tuner.
@OH2FFY I don't think Uniden distribute for Sangean now, I think Canohm is the distributor now. I have a DPR-69 and I love it, my family bought me an RCR-4 for my birthday and it was faulty, we've taken it back and asked for a replacement, I hope it arrives soon.

I had a Sangean ATS803A many years ago when they were new.
It was horrid.
Chuffing , poor AM and FM BCB rejection and ringing filters.
It was completely useless for any sort of real shortwave listening.
I took it back to the Sangean distributer (Uniden Australia) and complaned.
They didn't want to know anything about it as they had refused to deal with Sangean anymore.
I ended up selling it on eBay for $10 ..I think I ripped the guy off.
