What does the Bible say about Apostles and the "five-fold" ministry? In this video, Pastor Tom Trout talks about these controversial topics. Many people today are concerned with titles like apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, teacher. Ephesians 4:11-13 "So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." Ephesians chapter 4 is where a lot of teaching on the five-fold ministry on apostles comes from.

  • I'd be nervous about a letter proving the Scriptures to me. I think the Scriptures speak pretty well for themselves if we understand the cultural context behind it. Some good study and some common sense usually help. I appreciate Tom Trout's perspective.

  • Amen-We need a return of Eldership. Not these Dictating Episcapal Biships that think they are mini gods.

What we really need in church is Theocracy and right alignment. Then we will have power in our church. --

    Theocracy is religious tyranny.

  • You will never be able to understand or explain God with in your own knowledge or gnosis. You need to study about the letter written by Ignatius in 110 A.D. to answer your question this letter proves that the original apostolic pattern ended during this time and a single pastor stle leadership was implemented. It also said that no man had been found to lay the ax to the root. What we really need in church is Theocracy and right alignment. Then we will have power in our church.

  • What we see in ministry today, is not what Jesus left behind. For many have went, yet they were not sent. When God calls and chooses His servants, He anoints and appoints for service.

    Your servant in Christ

  • Absolutely the Truth... We need more people like Tom Trout who understand the Word of God AND the Power of God.
