Mariahadessa Ekere Tallie is a poet, writer, educator and
the author of "Mother Nature: Thoughts on Nourishing Your Body, Mind and Spirit During Pregnancy and Beyond." As a child, she was introduced to natural healing, yoga, and meditation by her mother. The births of her daughters, Serene and Joy-Shanti, inspired Ekere to delve more deeply into natural healing; she recently completed a three year herbal apprenticeship with Robin Rose Bennett, much of Ekere's work is connected to embracing the healing traditions of her ancestors.
