Sweet Georgia Brown - Alabama Jazz Band 2002

From a youtube friend from the Zurich, Switzerland area I received a DVD. Peter Meili is a reedplayer and plays in several bands in the Zurich area. I assume they have a strong traditional jazz scene there and the enclosed clip was recorded in the local Jazz Keller.

In September I received an email from Peter who wrote me that his drummer and friend Willie Maag had just died.

Quite a lot of folks reacted very positively to to posting of a clip in September and in memory of Willie I like to present another clip of the Alabama Jazz Band.This was recorded seveal years ago in 2002 and this high energy jazz group performs the famous standard "Sweet Georgia Brown."

The members of the band are Erwin Widmer trumpet, Hans Stegmann trombone, Peter Meili saxophone, Katrin Werder banjo, Erwin Nowak bass and Willie Maag on drums.
