My special segment on Autopsy's debut album, i'm more comprehensive with who they are here: http://youtu.be/ElVQe6pEAbE

Its been over 16 years since death metal pioneers Autopsy have released a full length album, that's a long time.

But the wait was worth it and much much more

This is a blueprint as to what death metal should sound like, feel like, and be like. The original trio of Reifert/Corrales/Cutler play their respective instruments with ease, precision, and mastery, and the bass by Joe Trevisano is expertly done, and the vocals are harsh, guttural, and screams to die for.

This is 12 songs and 65+ minutes of scary, torturous, and surprisingly meaningful death metal. Its as if they never left. This is in my opinion, not only the best death metal album of 2011, but also one of the very best of 2011.

Lets hope we won't wait another 16 years for another new Autopsy. Marvelous

On Peaceville Records, buy the CD and the limited dark blue 2LP, both of which are shown here, buy them both!

Lame attempt at a Chris Reifert scream at the end ^_^

  • That is some KICK ASS VINYL!

  • You should write a review for encyclopedia metallum regarding this album

  • Sweet review, this album is so kick ass and really dark and heavy. Sometimes it seems that some of the riffs drag on or the build up is too long. Deliver me from Sanity is killer!

  • Great review! \m/

  • nice review, subbed! :D

  • Autopsy posted this on their facebook page, I'm assuming that means thank you.

  • I know Joe Trevisano and his family, I go to high school with his son Mason Trevisano.
