  • Thanks Mickey, got myself a Carter Starter a couple of weeks ago - your lesson of blocking and this dexterity lesson is going to invaluable for me. Great stuff! Cheers, Laurie

  • This should have been your excercise 1...it is much easier to understand what you are doing, as it relates to pick blocking.

  • Well, Mickey you just made me realize it's time to take the cover off my steel and start practicing. Thanks so much for the tips on pick blocking. I had no idea how to use an exercise to get it to work. You just solved that problem. You got a new fan.

  • Hey Mick -

Love this exercise!! At 1:45 you go to a D#(Eb) on the way to the 5 chord. It sounds good, I'm just curious how that works since it's not in the F or the C scale? Or do I have this wrong...

    Thanks - Pete

  • Great lesson Mickey, it is much better than any

material I ever tried (DVDs & books).

    Thank you ever so much

    vin

  • mickey enjoy your helpfull lessons was wondering if you could do i'll come running by connie smith and weldon myrick i can't find a place to grt the tabs anywhere thanks bob in omaha

  • Thank you for the fast reply, Mickey, and sorry for MY delay in getting back to you, but... what I SEE is that you ARE blocking the sixth string with your thumb pick... (see 1:32 to 1:40, 2:25 to 2:30, 2.52 to 3.03 or 3.05 to 3.15). It is all very confusing...

    Eddy
