This is Harry James played on my Goodsell Record Player from 1960. The song is from a 1946 recording ( The birds are extra in the background)

The recording is "live" from California and Harry James proves that his band can provide a very sympathetic backing to such contemporary vocal numbers as "Seems Like Old Times" as well as raising the roof with such instrumental standards as his own compositions.

This is one of my collection of vintage audio equipment a Goodsell Schools record player from early 1960's. It came from the Folkstone area and with no mains cable which I had to convert to the new European Type and in doing so make the whole bigger. The cartage was blown so I got a replacement from Maplins. Thanks boys.

  • "Taking dreams come true, doing things we used to do" I's always "Making" in other versions. I see he corrects himself in the second chorus. Interesting...

  • Fine old song; of course, the recording is only 18 years older than me...thank you.

  • Hi

So glad you liked by old faithful friend Goodsell from the 60's

I do have a collection of gramophones and value sets.

This one is fully restored and plays well in my work shop ( you can hear the birds singing in my garden).

    Regards

    Richard ;)

  • your record player is amazing, I'm very interested in old radios and record players I had a friend who had a" record player " that played " Cylinders "long before to 78!
