the 80s was the last great decade of real black music. Blacks dont make real music like this anymore. Thus real funk and R&B is almost dead except for some of the old school master still out there like Teema Marie.

When i get signed i'm gonna make the move to bring this funk back, us teens need something we dont have to be ashamed to tell our parents we listened to.

it's coming back slowly but surely. they trying to bring the 80's rap back starting with the fashion

i'm 16 and i really wanna bring back this great "teen friendly" music. it helps that im a multi-instrumental musician. but what helps more is that there are millions of kids out there just like me that barely listen to the radio or watch music videos because there's nothing out there that relates to our age group. who really wants to mute their ipod or change the channel everytime a parent walks in the room? i have some covers i've done of Prince and associated acts music if u want to listen.

@missNYCmodel true. and i kinda think he acknowledged that a bit. i mean take Zapp and Roger, their funk hit just as hard as Prince's funk, yet at rehersals Prince and The Rev would Jam off of "more bounce to the ounce"

love this song nothing like 80S
I haven't heard this whole song before; I only heard a snippet. I really like Ready for the World, I only have their "20th Century Masters:...cd". I plan on buying an album of theirs.
Thank you for posting this song.
