I think it's meant to be a porno, but substituting the sexual fantasy stuff with car crashes. That's why the movie is all about sex, and some existential fetish.

Holly grabbed James Spader's junk a few minutes later in the movie and Spader hers. There was one sex scene between the two of them that she came out for the scene with no underwear and the scene had not called for her to do that, but she thought it was right for her character. The actors were dedicated to Cronenberg's vision.

This is a great movie! Everybody watch it!

To tell the truth, the main reason I've delayed watching "Crash" (2004) is because I'm mad that it stole the title from this film. However, I'll probably end up watching it very soon.
