  • I wish they would not do the out of sync second verse, it loses the emotion..

  • I actually like that part. I think it's beautiful.

  • most certainly one of my favourites, and here they sing it at a perfect tempo, sometimes it can be played too slow!

  • agreed, it is awesome

  • I'll try fix it

  • Wow, the quality is horrible. I don't know what's wrong with it. At least the audio is ok.

  • I've debated this question for a few years; What is Christianity's best hymn taking into account all aspects of a hymn, without compromise?

My answer is "Soul of my Saviour" sung to Anima Christi.

I thought this question was impossible to answer in light of all the hymns I know. This one stands-out--though it's time-worn and tattered.

I've never had the opportunity to sing it and I've only heard it once in person. That's something I must change before "deaths dread moment" overtakes me

If a tapestry was done in only one colour it would be boring; don;t you agree. I loved singing descant when I was choir boy.

  • You sound like one of the puritans who made similar arguments about polyphony. This is great music for the greater glory of God. There are an abundance of places incapable of this beauty - craftsmens art and music's measure - precisely because of people with your views. Given that is the case, go to one of the many other places, if you don't like this, and live and let live. Go somewhere else! Do you know how many of these choirs your sort have disbanded these last twenty years?

  • It's called a descant, and the boys' voices are uniquely shrill - it's what makes them different (not better) than girls and women. And yes I like that part too.

  • claptrap!

  • This is sooo touching & it made me cry!!! My dad sings this very often, & he taught me as well. Thank you for uploading this & May the Good Lord shower his blessings upon u always!!!
