REPORT: Funeral of Officer Omar Edwards (NYPD Friendly Fire) 06.04.09

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK - At funeral services for Officer Omar Edwards of the New York Police Department, community members and fellow officers gathered to honor the young African-American officer who was gunned down on May 28, 2009 by Officer Andrew Dunton. A "sea of blue" was seen for several blocks down Brooklyn's Throop Avenue as hundreds of officers saluted their fallen colleague.

Looks like more training in the proper response of off duty officers to on duty officers is needed. If i was Edwards i would have not chased the suspect down the street at night or day. Just go back to the station a couple of blocks away and report the incident. They would probably caught the guy anyways from fingerprints left on the vehicle. Something like this should not be turned into a racist acusation rant. Dangerous jobs have dangerous consequances.
