  • no newtonian polimer?

  • i swear its just thinking putty bt the changed the name and colour

  • What the millitary wants fron D3o is weight savings. Replacing the existing padding in the under layers of body armour with equilalent shock absorbtion for a third of the weight.

Being thinner, flexable, fireproof and stable from -40DegC to 120DegC are just a bonus.

Other more minor Military applications considered so far are lighter kneepads. Lightweight flexable protection in elbows and knees of fatigues to reduce minor injuries.

Weight is a great problem for the modern combat soldier.

  • it seems it kinda work like the non newtonia fluid in a gummy way

  • Oh, My bad, you didn't say quantum molecule, you said 'rearrange molecules at a quantum level'...

    But still...

I can't help but feel that 'quantum' doesn't belong there. Quantum being the smallest possible unit, realize... We know the molecular level pretty well, Sub-molecular... Kinda, Quantum level... Nuh-uh.

There are hardly even theories about it.

String theory would mean the manipulation at the quantum level would mean manipulating strings.

    Somehow, I don't think so.

  • Franky, I don't think you have any idea what you are talking about, What is a quantum molecule?

C'mon, give me an example of a quantum molecule.

  • Its not 'Thousands of hits' its 'under a thousand hits'

My name, Chainmaillekid has about 20,000 hits.

An obscure scientific term, that won't even show up on spell check like... somatosensory has nearly a million hits.

'Intelligent molecules' is a term used almost exclusively by D3o.

And I don't see what controlling molecules by computer has to do with either D3o or intelligent molecules.

  • how does a term like "intelligent molecule" be coined by a company thats only several years old and have "thousands of hits" second, Scientists are currently working on a project using molecules at a quantum level that with using a computer to input commands, can rearrange molecules creating shapes and solids, sort of like a 3D printer but can be rearranged instantaneously with a super computer hence called "intelligent molecules" although it is,and CAN be manipulated by a computer

  • I never said hitting the molded compout would result in it fracturing, I refer ONLY to the goo as seen in the video.

In fact, I highly doubt the final product would shatter at all, I honesly have no idea what they add to it.

    As for stopping bullets...

I think D3o got the grant because from the military because they wanted bullet proofing, and other military applications explored by palmer, not because thats what D3o currently is cabable of.
