  • fantastic landing

  • What was on the co-pilot's yoke was a tablet. instead of paper charts everything is stored on the tablet. Saves about 50 lbs. in carrying around paper charts.

THe Sabre 65 has a gross weight of around 24,000 lbs. and has jet engines, either one would require 2 pilots for this type aircraft. The right TR was maybe due to rigging. but aircraft landing performance isn't predicated on the use of thrust reversers anyway.

  • what is that on the co-pilots yoke???

  • Hi. Wondered what the comment alluded to: "easy on the right thrust reverser"; what was that all about? Worked on those lovely airplanes (avionics instruments) from 1968 to 1972, in Germany (Wiesbaden AB). Didn't start "driving" until 1980 - would have loved to "drive" that T-39 - a great airplane. • Great team work! Thanks. J R

  • good ol' pilots!

  • @16sag7 Yes. Recent new owner pilots are often SIC type rated. Old school pilot would be PIC type rated and have a buddy who is SIC rated. Some A&P's at jet centeres offer PICs for thier jet owners for an hourly fee. cheaper than buying insurance for a low time PIC owner.

If you can afford a Sabre, you can afford a Pilot/copilot.

  • Does the Sabreliner 65 require two pilots?

  • Thanks for the memory.

  • Great quality video - thanks!
