Eli Nahulu teaches Kamehameha Schools employees to plant koa trees at the Keauhou Forest Preserve and discusses the importance of caring for what we have today so it will be available tomorrow.
Why only koa trees? That's no forest it's a plantation. You can clearly see other plants including tree ferns growing in the understory. All of which will die if not for the gaps in the plantation. Real forest 100+ years old have almost no understory due to of lack of light, that vegetation can only survive if it's shade tolerant or in a clearing like a fallen tree. I'm curious to see what would happen had they just planted a random variety of seeds and left it alone completley.

Indeed, planting trees would be a very good investment towards a better future. Informative and comprehensive. Kudos!
