Laserphaco in a human eye, is demonstrated for the first time in history at the annual meeting of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery by Dr. Patricia Bath. The 1987 TV interview captures the highlights of the presentation which was heralded as a breakthrough in cataract surgery. The surgical video shows the laserphaco probe actively removing cataractous tissue from the eye. This demonstration is accompanied by an animated version of laserphaco.
Fantastic work Dr. Bath!! Continuing the scientific excellence of Dr. G.W. Carver and helping in your own right, to pave the way for future generations of pioneers.
Hats off!
