Just came up with this sequence of chords and decided to post it and see what you guys think.

Gear: Pod X3 Live, Ibanez GRX40 (quite cheap, got it with a start kit for about 250 eur).

Guitar sound preset on the POD... Phaz Pong

  • Very helpful. Thanks. How easy is it to switch between presets on the fly with this thing? Can you tweak and save your own presets then easily access them quickly while playing?

  • @TheNeonRabbit yup! You can program your own patches and store them in banks and then access them with the footswitches.

It works a bit like a roulette:you have 1 line with 4 presets, each preset has its own button on the pedal board. Then if you press and additional 5th or 6th button (you can go up or down to the next roulette of 4) and then again the same 4 buttons bring the different patches in that next roulette. Then it's up to you how to better organize this.never used this live tho

  • you buyed a line6 pod x3 live, and just do barré chords?

    tsssssssssssss

  • course man, out of my hat trick I can also play the happy birthday song and creep which consists of 3 chords (it didn't stop it from being one of the most popular songs ever of the 90s)

but if you look closely, I'm not playing only barre chords. also this was just an idea for something more, and I also have other videos recorded with the pod that maybe you'll find more challenging that playing barre chords :)

    cheers

  • Ah, I get it. That works. I don't really use a lot of different tones/effects live, maybe 6 or 7 presets but I like to go to the next tune pretty quick.

  • @SevenDayRiot angus uses overdrive by increasing gain on his tube amp, not distortion and i do believe -gain- isnt necessarily an effect.

  • and he also plays a pretty basic no frills style. there's nothing wrong with using effects tastefully. and also- he is definitely not one of the best guitarists out there- not even close

  • yeah i know... okay. Angus is my idol so I guess its just natural for me to think of him about that kind of stuff. but yeah i wasnt trying to be a douche...

  • congrats, you picked 1 guitarist that doesnt use effects... people like Clapton even use effects, so, don't be a douche bag
