@jpstrumpetplayer95 That's great. I like your band director's philosophy. This is a fun show to listen to and watch and it looks like the kids are having fun and I agree that sometimes utterly serious band competitions are cool too, but in many ways the competing aspect takes some of the fun out of playing and listening.

@ThatWickedDrummer Your so right it is

@jpstrumpetplayer95 I can understand that. We perform in festival class because we don't play the kind of music that the judges are looking to see. By a mistake from the USSBA, we won first place in our group in 2008 when we went to Baltimore:)

@narutojames225 The reason we don't compete is because we want to play tunes that are popular. It's just who we are, and we enjoy it. By the way, what Marching Band are you with? Lol, I'm curious now.

@narutojames225 I wish I saw you guys perform, but our director didn't give us a chance to watch any of the Bands.
In my opinion, the kids (and adults) here pay attention and react but not as much as when we perform in Annapolis or Rutgers where every single person has to watch, lol. That feeling is a heck of a lot better than performing during football games.
