You mean to New York? Not long before they left, Stefano's wife died. Stefano needed to get away from Meerdijk and Lucas felt like he needed to be there for his father.

This was written quite differently than I expected. Not sure how to put it in words, they handled it completely well, as it was more about the communication and relationship with Lucas and his mother, than about Lucas being gay. Though I think the mother should lay some ground rules about bringing guys home, unless of course it's Dex! +*winks* Thank you!

You can't say one minute that it's no big that you're gay and that you shouldn't have to introduce yourself as gay, and then get mad when you're mom doesn't automatically assume you're gay or even think to ask you. Like you said, it's not a big deal. His mom is clearly not a homophobe and doesn't have a problem with her son by any means, but he could have been nicer about it.

@visitor9627 i totally agree. its a big change from the overrated "i hate your being gay" that most soaps usually start on. it seems that at least more and more people focus on the communication, as you said, which i deeply hope reflects how people nowadays accept homosexuality.
