President Nixon's Farewell Speech

Today is the 14th Anniversary of the death of the 37th President of the United States: Richard M. Nixon.

The speech used for the video is President Nixon's Farewell Speech to the White House Staff on August 10, 1974.

The speech was recreated for the end scene of Oliver Stone's 1995 controversial film "Nixon", which features Sir Anthony Hopkins as the lead role and delivers this recording of the farewell speech, as featured in the movie.

This movie made me cry.

This is one of my top ten movies to watch- sure it's a docu-drama. Albiet that many think the movie JFK was factual. That aside. Nixon=Not a celebrity and never a darling of the media-I can't dismiss his impact considering who got us into Vietnam in the first place. I guess that's the way that political terms go: Unmessing someone else's mess while pushing personal agenda. Am i wrong?
