@FractalZero Very much agreed

Yes. Gradual changes in educational goals and cultural moral values are a start, but there is too much damage to the mind of man to undo. The time by which the requisite generations will live to know this will be too late. We will lament our own inaction in a matter of decades.

@FractalZero I agree with your sentiment as it would be very progressive if we could suddenly become that way. I often dream of a world that prioritizes for the sake of improving quality of life for the community as a whole, not simply their own ilk. The only problem I find with this dream is a simple question: How do we remove the inherent selfishness of human nature without removing personal liberty and freedom? This gets back to Huxley's "Brave New Wold". I enjoyed your comment :)

Ignoring your presumption that i own or care to drive a car, its making is with a compromise in production method and material to lower the cost of producing the car and thus increasing profit margin - so yes, they are greedy and want your money. Also if you'd care to read my comment properly you'd see that i said we used to co-operate, but no longer, which will be our downfall.

@FractalZero What a bunch of bullshit. So the car you drive is so cheap because people cared about fucks like you and me? No, they were greedy and wanted your money, so they had to come up with a product you can afford.

I love Carlin but he was quite off the mark here. Competition is essentially backwards. We are only where we are due to egalitarianism, co-operation where everybody is a winner. Bizarrely, we've trapped ourselves in a modern self-destructive 'survival of the fittest' with an ingrained notion that we must 'succeed' as the expense of others. If we are to have any hope of existing in the future a re-conditioning to act in positive co-operative spirit. This is funny and clever nonetheless.

"Everybody gets a trophy Day" is part of what part down society. Kids need to understand that losing is a part of life. That being said, these leagues and schools need to get rid of the mercy rule crap. If a kid can't take losing to a team 100-0, well, too bad.

the only thing i ever really learned from school other then some stuff i actually WANTED to learn, was how to prepare for real life

@MrBiscUTTs28 i cant stop laughing to that sentence
I remember as a kid in the 1980's, when I fell and got a scratch, my dad would say "It's only a scratch, Vietnam was worse."
