This video states that 30,000 horses are being sent to Canada, I know a good number are also going to Mexico, meeting an even worse ending than in Canada,

If we stop sending horses to slaughter all together where do American people think that 50,000 horses EVERY YEAR will go?

If you have a horse that can't be useful because of an injury or illness or age, and you can't keep it as a pet, you had better be ready to euthanize it if you don't want it tobe shipped off and slaughtered.

While ANY inhumane handling and slaughtering practices are inexcusable, particularly in Canada, where there are some of the world's most strict humane-treatment laws, they only showed us one lousy facility. I have seen how humane, stress-free and pain-free the deaths of horses, (as well as cattle and hogs) are in other plants. The majority of facilities follow design and handling protocols designed specifically to avoid stress, pain and any other kind of suffering.

It is all in our minds that we have a problem with eating horses. We build a relationship with them, get to know their individual personalitys and view them as an individual. I guarantee, if you raised a pet pig or cow, and trained it and built a relatioship with it, you would have the same reaction to slaughtering them.

Do cows pigs and chickens deserve to meet cruel and torturous deaths but horses don't, just because WE never CHOSE to make them pets???

the difference is cows that are slaughtered are Reproduced to be slaughtered. where as these horses came from regualr banrs and owners that they auctioned. cows are a natural source of meet and horses were our natural transportation and noble mate.
