So if we kept every horse what the HELL would we do with them all!?! I have 3 horses of my own. If you dont want YOUR horse to go to slaughter then dont send it to an auction. Everyone else knows they are taking that risk when sending a horse to auction. Everyone has to eat and the old hurt sick unwanted horses have to go somewhere. I am a dairy farmer. Cows are my companions. I still have to send them toslaughter and i still eat beef. when done correctly it isnt bad.

I just cried my eyes out horse slaughter is back in the USA! My family loves horse and I never thought somebody in my family would support it but today my grandma sent my cusins horse to slaughter and she didn't know for a week!! She once was my hero but not now!!! The stupid trainer she is friends with took some of his horses too!!!!! I just want to cry my eyes out!!! :,( life stinks right know poor horses

I am not in favor of horse slaughter. Horses have been our companion animals for centuries, and bred to be that, not bred for food. But there are too many horses, and not enough good homes for them. Better that some should be cleanly slaughtered than watch them die slowly of starvation and neglect. And, yes, it IS possible for a thorough and conscientous slaughterman to use the captive bolt gun effectively on horses, destroying the brain instantly and painlessly. But many are idiots.

@Dominique6586 and that friend voluntarily sold it. Not many horses are stolen and sold to slaughterhouses. Most are sold willingly by the owner to any willing buyer at auction, which can be a kill buyer. If people did not sell off their horses because the kids lost interest or the horse got old or wasn't winning anymore, then the blame lies with the owner who values money more than the horse.

How about we do the same thing to these men in the slaughterhouse? Let's see how they like it. I hope they rot in hell and they deserve the worst as well as chicken cow and pig slaughter! Go vegan;)
