  • all i have to say is, if this cartoon and cartoons similar to it (with exaggerated stereotypes of certain non-white ethnic groups) weren't racist/offensive, then they'd still be shown on TV today.

  • I don't think the cartoon is racist. It is a matter of personal opinion. Controversial, yes absolutely. Just look at all the comments. Does anyone know of any animation made by blacks, portraying whites, that might be considered racist? I'd be interested to see how the shoe fits on the other foot. If you can find something that can honestly offend and hurt me, I'll be shocked!

  • For those of you trying to convince yourselves that this isn't racist, one simply needs to observe the way in which the black hunter is drawn. His features are ridiculously exaggerated, particularly his lips.

  • Yeah.. They also drew them in Blackface character... a Stereotype.

  • This isn't racist! Why is it considered racist for Bugs Bunny to trick a black person but not a white person? True, they made him sound funny, but they make Elmer sound funny, too!! If you think that this episode is racist, then you yourself are being racist from even just noticing it! If you weren't racist, you wouldn't even care about the color of the person Bugs Bunny tricks.

  • the people who made this were racist, it doesnt continue today due to political correctness why people are moaning about this cartoon now boggles my mind. THEY DONT SHOW IT ON TV ANYMORE PEOPLE! get over it! it's been sorted out! end of!

  • When I was a toddler I had one Looney Tunes video and the first cartoon was this one. So through out my childhood my dad (who is african) used to try and get me to avoid Bugs Bunny cartoons.

  • @iris5678 It's because of the dice. Back when this cartoon was made, african americans were seen as heavily gamblers. This is why the hunter gets distracted from his goal by bugs rattling the dice until he loses the shirt off his back.
