More Brits are Celts than Anglo-Saxon. It's fine to love a certain culture but why exaggerate its role in your own? The US is unique, you aren't particularly similar to ANY one country. E.g. Scandinavians played a big part & your whites are just as likely descended from them. Problem is Mitt's aid has no clue about the UK (he assumed we're all Anglo-Saxon), but thinks being a white American instantly makes Mitt culturally similar. The French are more like us & they're definitely not Anglo-Saxon.

No actually it's around 10%, 23% if you count all British as Anglo-Saxon. But our culture, language, government, and religion all come from our great history of Anglo-Saxondom dating back to the colonial era. And Anglo-Saxons, along with African Americans(who we freed BTW) have contributed most to our society and built it up to be a great country.

According to your country's census only 8% of Americans have any kind of partial English ancestry. The other 92% are an Afro-Euro-Asian melting pot.

To refer to America or Americans as Anglo-Saxon is just wrong.

actually Romney's family was indeed English infact they converted to Mormonism in Preston England not very rare either the vast majority of American Mormons are of either English or Welsh descent most of which were converted in Britain even before leaving for America.
