In the words of Towleroad.com, "The Illinois Family Institute, a certified hate group, has just released a fear-mongering, disgusting, lie-filled video [called "Dare to Stand"] about the upcoming Day of Silence on Friday, April 17. The Day of Silence, sponsored by GLSEN and now in its 13th year, is a day on which school kids across the nation take a vow of silence to draw attention to bullying, name-calling and harassment in the nation's schools."

This video is my personal response.

"Homosexuality isn't the problem - fear is the problem, and when you overcome this fear, what you will see is love."

Thank you to those contributing their views to the video as part of my response.

  • TRUTH IS FOUND in the ORIGINAL FORM POSTED under ILL. family institute.

I believe that video was done lovingly and properly and TRUTHFULLY...Love is TRUTH...TRUTH is LOVE...GOD is both...believe it (and be saved) ACTS 16:31

I stand for LOVE, not adultery, homosexuality or any sin in my own life nor defend it. Christ died for all sins...mine and yours!

Don't tolerate...but LOVE one another; that includes being TRUTHFUL about sin.

ONLY GOD'S TRUE LOVE WILL STAND.

  • aimlessteacherimnot, I get a little confused when someone says don't tolerate gay people but love gay people.

On a side note, I think more and more straight people will see that they have been fearing gay people because they don't know much about homosexuality, and with understanding, they will see that being gay is just another form of the love that they experience themselves as straight people.

I can't see a concrete reason why homosexuality is a bad thing, it's really just indifferent.

  • You make me smile so much. . . yesterday, right after I saw that video, I started to cry. And I couldn't stop; I know I shouldn't of, but I felt ashamed for who I was and how others saw me. I got over it with words from my friends and you are proving that it's not just me with these thoughts, not just these people. We are one, we are grand, we are here, and there is nothing that should stop that.

  • Yamachi, never feel ashamed for who you are and how some people may see you, no matter how much pain you might feel at times. We will overcome.

  • As a mother of 4 sons, and a practicing person of faith, I am shocked and offended by the "Dare to Stand" video, who were too cowardly to allow open commentary on their offensive video. It justifies bullying and violence in the very public schools my children attend. Mother Teresa, whom I dare say, lived a more Christian life than most anyone else currently living, was once asked what her response to homosexuality was. to which she responded,"Jesus told me to love, not to judge, so I love them"

  • Last time I checked, I didn't need to be saved from anything.

  • Fear! oh great another homophobia is a diease believer. Homophobia is a misused word that homosexual activist came up with. Why don't you admit it homosexuals are the ones afriad of Christians because we might be right!

  • you pray? you better pray for God to forgive you for belonging to a denomination that has mislead you. seriously what church do you go to?

  • you belief that homosexuality is not a sin is what makes you unable to understand this video. Your tolerant beliefs make you biased and unable to provide an objective view of this video.

  • Destructive behavior? Why don't they do a test on two schools. One school is to promote diversity training and expose children to homosexuality as much as possible. The other is to say nothing about homosexuality they are to be as unexposed to it as possible and see how many children in both of those schools wind up gay.

  • look at Massachusetts ! They did unto us in massachuesetts as what they would like us to do to them.

  • You say that a straight highschool friend of yours that is a father couldn't watch this video only to a certain point but don't explain why? Furthmore what is your opinion on their claim of jamming? I dare you to prove that Homosexual organizations are not attempting Jamming?

  • these so called rules that you believe are the homosexual agenda prove it in their ads. Show me that they don't claim they are a victim of hate, and bring it down to two postion that of the reasonable tolerant person and that of the stilted biggot.

  • spread love not AIDS and ASS

  • I think that will only fuel their fire. People like this enjoy upsetting others ... they enjoy others' suffering. The Illinois Family Group is pretty much a hate group, so they won't care.
