Bundy was an extreme example of a relatively common narcissistic personality type. (Marginally!) less extreme narcissists than Bundy, so called "succesful psychopaths" often end as our presidents, CEOs, dictators and ideologues, and they can wrap entire countries up in their narcissistic fantasies (e,g. 1930s Germany).
