The Aeneid: Journey to the Underworld
(Book 6)

Synopsis:
Aeneas' journey to the underworld is pertinent in several respects. Mainly, Aeneas discovers the truth as to Dido's "final moments," as well as the fate of his dear friend Deiphobus, and, of course, Anchises divulges the importance of Aeneas going to Italy. But first, Aeneas and his guide Sibyl have to be ferried by Charon, drug the serpent-dog Cerberus, and maintain a cool dignity as they manage through the many circles of the Underworld.

b) Aeneas encounters Deiphobus. Book 6: lines 155-167
Deiphobus responds. Book 6: lines 168-173, 185-196
c) Aeneas finds his father. Book 6: lines 403-404, 443-447
