I have one tomorrow morning. I'm a little nervous that I'll have a panic attack when I wake up, because I have an anxiety disorder and being groggy/confused scares me.

machine broke and he kept missing all his following appointment's because of it
so it was finally moved to the 9th the surgery went fine he had some sickness from the general anesthesia but the next day was having chills and had a high fever so we brought him back to the hospital and from there that's when everything went down hill
the doctors were fighting over if his bile duct collapsed which there is written evidence that it did so when the doctors finally did the surgery he was way past...

my dad died on February 12th 2011 from an gi endoscopy because he got sick back in June of 2010. he started turning yellow so we took him in to the ER and it turned out that a gallstone was lodge in his bile duct and was blocking his liver so the surgeons removed the gallstone they also removed his gallbladder then they put a stent in his liver so in case his bile duct collapsed then after that he was supposed to have it removed by Halloween which did not happen!!!! because the Endoscopy.....

What do they give you, if already on 120mg morphine a day for pain? most sedatives do not work on me. I am having a GI Endoscopy on on monday 5th Dec 2011, worried sick...can't swallow, lost almost 60lbs, and grandparent had 2 tumours on his food tract...he had duodenum stent to help..but was gone less than 3 months after diagnosed September 2005.

Some people under general anesthesia with this procedure.

excelent video! thanks for explain the procedure.

@CamOfficialMusic - you wrote: "...the 'duodenum' is actually pronounced 'doo-wah-dunum'. Not 'duo-dee-num'.
It is pronounced BOTH ways, as the word "either" for example, is pronounced both "ee-ther" and "eye-ther", depending on the user. If you go to an audio dictionary, you will actually hear the Nucleusanimation pronunciation, first. This is one of many procedures which I am involved with on a daily basis. Nucleusanimation is extremely exact in their language usage.

@luvmyasianman Thanks for explaining that! There are many medical terms with more than one correct pronunciation. We try to choose the one most commonly used by M.D.s.
