  • OMG...Thomas is a beautiful child. Your video is really beautiful, and Karen Carpenter's voice in the background just makes me boo hoo.

I am glad to see the eye contact and social interaction that Thomas has. I am very curious as to you stating that Thomas is non verbal at the age of 8 years old. I face this question, and the reality of it every day...just when do you know or decide that your child with ASD will most likley be non-verbal the rest of their life?

  • Wow 6 times ..glad you liked it i have a video called Thomas we love you..its a tear jerker so i'm told ...and i do think one day he will find his voice and shock us all x

  • Hi Angie,

Thanks for the response. So Thomas is now 10 years old and still non-verbal so to speak. Some children with ASD can go thru speach thearapy for years, and yet they still do not get the "inner brain" connection to let them speak..this is what puzzles me so much about the ASD diagnosis. Gee, I have watched this video 6 times this morning, and I can tell that Thomas has so much spark and energy coming from his eyes..he is gonna talk one day!

  • Hi and thanks for the lovely comment, Thomas is 10 now and what they call non verbal because although he can say somethings he still cannot have a conversation with you but will use the odd single word, he is also learning basic sign language which he is doing well with, i have now faced the reality of Thomas never talking properly but using basic single language and signs, but i also love in hope that he will one day be able to talk to us and at least tell us how he feels, Thanks for watching !
