The harp has been in Ireland for a long, long time. The flute is very traditional but came a little later; they picked it up from the Norse. The title is in Gaelic and means "A Strange Day in the Countryside."

although the title says Lá Cuimhthíoch Fán dTuath, it doesn't sound strange to me, more like a magical journey through a forest and this is another instrumental by clannad that is just wow :)

The 'Irish flute' has been in Eire longer than the harp, and is also found in India. In terms of what came first, the flute and drum are by far the oldest. The Norse brought NO new instruments to Ireland. The Norse were the last recipients of musical instruments as they spread across Europe in general, and they all came East to West, South to North, like the people did.
