I just got a Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS6 for recording my work.

This video was entirely shot with this camera (except for the photos of the camera itself:)

I thought that taking photo & video of the shop would be a good test drive for it and a good way to share a tour of the American Craftsman Workshop.

Song: The Forgotten People
Artist : Thievery Corporation

Hope you enjoy the tour.

  • You have an awesome setup for your shop.

I can't believe nobody asked about that song, well, i am asking, who is it by, and what is the name of it? i think its cool.

  • @shawnlimy19671972 The song is "The Forgotten People" by Thievery Corporation I put it at the very end of the video but just realized I need to put it in the video description.

I have DJ friends that expose me to some very cool tunes.

  • @oceannavagator I would say as a professional I am pressed to keep moving in my shop but I doubt that I feel the pressure like yourself.

If you are doing yacht repair that is a situation where someone is using it and wants it back. If I am doing a built-in, the expectations and urgency are a bit different.

  • @toddclippinger I'm probably a little more rushed than you are, I do yacht repair and people want it last week or not at all so I fall a little behind in the corners where it's dark. I do like my pet spiders though.

  • @dh5830 Safety is a personal responsibility. If it feels dangerous to you then don't do it. I actually get quite accurate cuts with my methods. But I consider myself a skilled woodworker.

  • @oceannavagator I TOTALLY live in the shop. You need to look at my portfolio, I am a juried artist for my furniture and design.

I just work with a high level of discipline.

  • Nice shop man! But you must not work in there. No shavings, no dust, no pet spiders with their webs, no phone numbers on the wall, no overspray on the floor and no nasty ole coffee cups littering the bench. You just don't have that lived in look.

  • @toddclippinger Yeah it is dangerous and won't get the most out of the machine. Have the guides set too 25mm (1'') above the work and your will get a much straighter cut.

  • @mithrandir10001 I have a history of freestyle rock climbing without ropes. What you witness here is the least of my dangerous activities.

  • Not very good safety practice on the bandsaw. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and allow that the upper guide was set so high for "photographic clarity"
