  • When we were out there we brought the canoe. We put in at: Loche Lomond, Watsonville Slough, Lake Sonoma, Lake Berryessa. Nice memories driving and stopping along the coastal route 1. not enough cooking stations at the rest stops though. Once we went to Manresa Beach(I love that old Mansion property with gardens on the corner there{Redman Farm Mansion Project also})Anyway we show up to manresa and no barby to cook out on. We then go to Henry Cowell Park for cookout feast. A-1

  • @Hoodyrulez

Respect only. Yes, that was a stereotypical situation but we did experience it. It was cool. I absolutely loved all of our trips and observations -California. I was working full time as well with peoples from different cultures and not stereotypical. If I had to generalize, I'd say mostly nice family peoples.

  • @saranovitch naaah. thats not what its about. too material istic. and stereotypical.

  • The whole thing was really surreal and seemed to last 10 minutes but was probably only 2-3. The look on simon's face. We put a Santa Cruz Skull sticker on the rear window of the Volvo. Simon said," Papa, were wise guys now right"? Cute, he meant that we were skater, surfer, bmx, types I think. Around that time I was near death from exhaustion and injuries. The doc that gave me the prendisone and the referrals probably saved my life. Thanks Santa Cruz/ Palo Alto Medical Foundation. Really.

  • That meant Watsonville. If your from New England this could cause some culture shock indeed. They were bumpin the gangsta tunes as we idled there for a while before the light turned green allowing us to proceed into more agriculural and mountainous surroundings. They looked just like these guys. Lots of tats and bandanas, and flat visored hats, dark shades, hoodies. nice folks though. the latin familys are tight, always mama, papa, children togerther. We did this too I guess. safer, danger there.

  • One sunday we were going to Gilroy to one of favorite ethnic grocer Cachi Fruit. It is a pretty big store with a large selection. very fairly priced. We'd go whenever we were out that way. Anyhow, we were at at traffic light and a really pimped out Impala convertable stopped in the right turning lane next to us. It was a shade of candy apple red and It had what appeared to be water jet cut chrome metal adornments with flame shapes rising from ovular plaques. within each letters spelling WATSON
